It’s easy to go on and on about the many quality beauty products found at Sephora, Ulta, and Nordstrom. Those products typically cost an arm and a leg. Thankfully, there are many drugstore products that work just as well, and for a fraction of the cost.
Primer – NYX Professional Makeup Angel Veil
NYX makes many quality products. This primer does a great job of keeping your skin matte. I’ve also noticed the finish has almost a slight stickiness to it that seems to hold my foundation on well for hours.
Concealer – Maybelline FIT ME! Concealer
Maybelline’s FIT ME! line has gained a lot of traction with their foundation. This concealer is great. The formula is oil-free and does a great job of covering redness. It offers medium, yet build-able coverage. It works just as well as the high end ones, and for $5 is a whole lot cheaper. My only issue with this product is that it does not come in as many shades at the FIT ME! foundation, making it tricky to find your perfect match.
Foundation – Milani 2-in-1 Foundation
I’ve heard by many that this foundation is comparable to Urban Decays Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Foundation and I see why. This full-coverage foundation doesn’t weight down on the skin. I would recommend using a flat blush to blend this in. It’s rare to get that much coverage while feeling light on the skin. I recommend purchasing the Milani foundation in one shade lighter than normal, since when this formula oxidizes it darkens which is why so many people have issues with this foundation.
Dare I compare this to Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner? Maybelline’s Stiletto eyeliner is one of the most popular drug store liquid liners. This product glides on smooth, giving you maximum control, and stays. It has lasted over 8 hours without smudging or fading. A great liquid liner for makeup beginners because of the precision offered with the felt tip!
Mascara – COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume Mascara
This mascara has been around forever, and remains a customer favorite! I love the strong bristles on the applicator. They really do a great job of separating and brushing through your lashes so each gets a coating of the volume-boosting formula creating some serious volume. My biggest recommendation would be to use a setting spray with this mascara since it can run! But for $5.99 this mascara works insanely well.
